Situationals is our Radio Programme hosted on New Style Rado 98.7 FM in Birmignham United Kingdom every Wednesday around 9.00pm.

Situationals looks at difficlut situations all people go through and offers them hope and a future through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Below are some of the transcripts of our programes. Situationals: People under the threat of physical attack From living in a viloent neighbourhood

INTRO:

Situationals is a brief look at some of life’s difficult situations and circumstances we all go through. We talk about the feelings, thoughts and things that we do in these situations. We are here to encourage you during these difficult times, and let you know that there is a hope and a solution to many situations you find hard to deal with in life.

Today we will be talking to people who under the threat of physical attack in their neighbourhoods, here on the inspirational Gospel programme.

We are hearing on the news of the increase of gun crime and stabbings in our city and nation, particularly among young people. A lot of it is we are told, is because of gang warfare in our inner cities. Some places of our cities are becoming “no go” areas, where many people live in fear and terror of stabbings and gun crime because of what is happening there. There are people out there tonight listening to my voice who are living in such areas; areas where there is high drug activity, stabbings and gun warfare and are afraid for their lives, children and other family members. It may be that you are an older person living in your home and are now afraid to go out and shop; or it may be that you are a person with a disability and your mobility is limited and fear going out to your local shops or going on extended journeys because of the crime that is in your area.

Its seems that although the police and government are doing all they can to stamp this stuff out, it is on the increase. Human nature being what it is means, that people do not get better but worse, and we see our society quickly degenerating into a gun society like the United States.

Is there any protection, any safety for people living in such areas where there is mass violence of this kind? Some people have taken it into their own hands to defend themselves. They too have bought knives and guns and other equipment to meet the violence threatening them.

Now this is one way of dealing with it, but it is not the right way, You see when you become violent like those around you, you are no different from them and actually make yourself their target. Jesus said it like this:

“He who picks up the sword shall die by the sword…”

So how do you deal with the constant threat and fear of gun violence or stabbings? Well you could move from your neighbourhood if you possibly can. However some of you do not have this option for whatever reason, and tonight I want to give you some hope that in the midst of this horrible situation, someone has the power to keep and protect you amongst the violent people you are living amongst. That person is God, particularly Jesus.

There are many examples in the bible of God keeping His people in the midst of violent situations. For instance Daniel and the three Hebrew children were kept from harm from the King of Babylon. We hear in the new Testament of how God kept Peter and freed him from prison. Now this is not an airy fairy concept, but reality. There are countless testimonies of God keeping people from danger today. I Know of a testimony of a woman who was walking home at night and she saw a group of young people who looked like they were about to attack her. They came about 300 yards towards her and they suddenly bolted like lightening away from her. She later heard from a friend that one of these young people from the local gang told about how he and others were about to harass a young lady, and suddenly two huge 10 ft men appeared by her side with swords from nowhere. Now these men were actually angels. The bible says:

And he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways… Psalms 91 vs 11

You see when you give your life to God, He personally becomes responsible for helping and protecting you. I know some of you out there have experienced something similar to this. You were suddenly rescued from a dangerous situation almost supernaturally. God intervened to protect you even though you don’t follow Him or know Him.

So there is help, supernatural help and protection for those who belong to God and give their lives and families to him. I’m not saying everything will be perfect, but God guarantees through his word to protect you.

You see humans can’t do anything about our society, who else can you turn to?

Lord Jesus i know you are speakign to me tonight. Lord you know my situation and the threat of crime here where i liove. Lord I need your help and protection. Lord I acknowledge I am a sinner and that you came 2,000 years ago to die upon the Cross to save me. I beleeiove that you are the Son of God and that you rose again. Lord I turn away from my sin and bad lifestyle and sask you to come into my life and be my Lord and saviour. Lord I commit my lfie and family into your hands for your keeping and protection this day, in Jesus name Amen:

Christians Whose faith is Under Attack

Hello and welcome to another edition of situationals, I’m Austin Baxter.

Situationals is about life’s difficult situations we all go through. We are here to encourage you during these difficult times and to let you know there is a hop and solution to these difficult situations.

Today we will be talking about challenges to belief in God here on the inspirational Gospel programme.

There are Christians and religious people who find that their faith is being challenged by materialists and those who do not believe in God. Last week I spoke a little bit about this subject and want to go a bit further today. People of faith are being told that their religion is irrelevant, stupid a delusion and bad for society and their kids. Now everyone is entitled to their opinions, this is a free country, so we are not censoring what people are saying. However many religious people particularly Christians find their faith being shaken because they do not know how to respond to the challenges being levelled against it.

The basic argument we are hearing is that science and reason have disproved God. That evolution and science can give us an explanation to the origins of the universe and of mankind. Numerous programmes are being aired on TV claiming this. I want to tell you straight, that this is just not true. Science cannot and has not explained the origins of the universe or mankind. What is does is present to us theories about the origins of the universe and of mankind which it attempts to prove to be true. However there are loads of Christians scientist and physicists who will tell you, that science is nowhere near giving us answers to these questions, but just presents theories to you as though they are true.. So you need to do research and find out for yourself what is true. We are being told to think and not just believe what we are told in religion. Well the same applies to science. We should know something about science and its history, to see if it gives us truth and accurate information. Now in the case of evolution, this is just not so

Evolution. This theory is being taught everywhere as though it were true. Yes, fossils have been found, but they do not prove evolution. Here’s some facts about evolution you probably don’t know:

1.They cannot find any transitional forms of animals- if we evolved and species evolve from one to another, there should be millions, of fossils of animals in transition, going from one species to another species. They have a couple of fossils of a bird/mammal type animal that they argue is a transition. However There should be millions of these right across the evolutionary chain. Where are all these fossils? In fact a famous evolutionist Stephen Jay Gould has said that the lack of intermediate life forms persists as the trade secret of palaeontology-study of fossils” whilst the American Museum of Natural History, Nile Elridge goes on further to confess, “We palaeontologists have said that the history of life supports …(the story of gradual adaptation)…all the while knowing that it does not…” These are startling admissions. Another article in Newsweek 1980 said: “In the fossil record missing links are the rule…The more scientists have searched for the transitional forms that lie between species, they more they are frustrated.” Now remember this is despite over 150 years of scientific research for these fossils after Darwin’s publication of the origin of species in 1859. Surely, we should have found them by Now?

2.In the last 100 years we have been presented will all sorts of missing links, said to link us human beings with the apes. All of them have been disproved: 1857 Neanderthal Man unearthed in Germany, as a missing link, most experts now agree that Neanderthal man was a card carrying member of the human race!, Piltdown man of 1912 said to be missing link, now proven to be a hoax, a 400 year old human skull married to an orang-utan’s jaw!, Nutcracker man of 1959, found in Africa, claimed by national geographic as missing link, experts now agree to be the skull of an extinct ape, and Lucy of 1974, tiny skeleton found in Ethiopia, said to be over 3 million years old, most experts now have reduced the so called evidence to shreds!! We can find skeletons of modern human remains, but where are the hundreds and thousands of transitional forms needed to get to us human beings according to evolution? They don’t exist!

So with this level of missing evidence and speculation in the field of evolution, you can see it is hardly scientific. It is more sensible and logical to believe that with all this complexity, arrangement and order in our universe, that God created and designed it.So do not be intimated by what you are hearing. Keep hold of your faith and research for yourself and you will find out how much evolution is purely conjecture, theory hypothesis with no hard evidence to support it!
